The HITM( Hospitality Institute of Technology and Management )double hand washing process requires the use of a nail brush for friction on the first wash to aid in removing bacteria from fingertips that are soiled with high levels of fecal pathogens. HITM recommends the Anchor 2000 Surgeon's Scrub Brush. It is used when an employee enters the kitchen from using the toilet, coming from home, with the possibility of feces and vomit on the hands, etc.

Scrub brushes are used by surgeons for scrubbing the disinfectant before a surgery. They can be disposable type and reusable type. The disposable type of brushes are packaged with antiseptic already contained within the brush. These need to be thrown after scrubbing. The reusable brush can be Autoclaved and sterilized to be used again the next time.
