Materials Specifications:
1. Anode shall be magnesium bar in prepackaged backfill which is manufactured from high quality primary magnesium.
2. Manufacturing techniques and chemical composition must insure that the anodes produce a driving potential that exceeds other sacrificial anodes, such as standard potential magnesium, aluminum or zinc anodes.
3. Prepackaged Backfill Composition:
a. 75 percent ground hydrated gypsum.
b. 20 percent powdered bentonite.
c. 5 percent anhydrous sodium sulfate.
d. In water permeable fabric sack with anode centered in sack.
4. Lead Wire: A 20 feet long #12 standard copper wire with HMWPE (high molecular weight poly ethylene) double insulation rated at 600volts (min.) shall be factory connected to core with silver brazing alloy.
5. Each anode shall be individually wrapped in polyethylene to be removed during installation.
6. Chemical Composition:
